Ontario golf courses for single golfers

Booking alone should be simple, but many course websites never explain whether a single can reserve. Here is what 45 public and semi-private courses from the east and north GTA through Northumberland and Peterborough actually publish.

Explicit single booking

Royal Ashburn, Hawthorne Valley and Markham Executive explicitly describe when singles can play and how pairing may work.

Explicitly not accepted

Wooden Sticks states that single-player bookings are not allowed under its published public conditions.

Most courses do not say

For the remaining courses, use the official player-count search or call the Pro Shop for the current rule.

Tips for booking as one

Look for an incomplete group.

  1. 1. Search the official portal with the player count set to one.
  2. 2. Expect to be paired with another single, twosome or threesome.
  3. 3. If the portal blocks one player, call the Pro Shop and ask to join an open group.
  4. 4. Recheck close to the day of play; courses may release single spots as groups form.
